Santa Cruz would be the Byron Bay of the West coast.
We head in backwards as i miss the exit and make our way back to the beach.
Surfers everywhere. Absolutely everywhere .. i was in heaven..
* side note.
If you want to find the most attractive people in the states, go to the West coast.. LA was good but the further north we got the better the people looked.
We park at Pleasure Point and watch about 50 surfers fight for the next wave. I could have watched them forever.
With only a few hours to spend here we head head into town, i heard that the thrift shopping was amazing and i want to get in on the action.
Heading down toward the centre of town or what we thought was the centre we see what i thought was markets.. MARKETS, i love markets.
Parking is a bitch and when we eventually get one and wander into town we discover that it is not markets but a Car show.. not as good but some of those cars were beautiful and it was cool to stumble on it.
We stroll to the beach and ask for directions to town, find parking much faster than we did near Capitola Beach and start our search for good shopping.
Our 1st store was the most amazing store- The Santa Cruz skate store.
decks lined the walls, used, signed, new and special editions, my neck was fixed toward the ceiling and although i do love 'The Chad' i instantly wanted to replace him with at least 6 other decks in the store.
it was amazing, we hang around for a good half an hour, i pick up a t-shirt and we continue on our way to some thrift stores. Jaymee picks up some things but i leave with only my new t-shirt.
Santa Cruz was really cool and i wish that Sal hadnt broke down so we could have experienced it better but at least we got to see it.
We get back to the car wishing we could stay but we have a show to get to
The Black Lips in San Fran, here we come.
